Digital Newspaper – Press 4 Kids
News-O-Matic is an educational resource providing young students with five different news stories everyday. This app allows students to engage and learn about current events going on in our world. Each day I would customize the cover page based on the news stories for that day. I would work closely with the editors to find the best way to represent articles through sourcing stock imagery and making infographics. Working on this app really advanced my communication skills in finding different ways to educate the youth.
Teacher Database
One of the big projects that I have worked on was creating a teacher dashboard. This is an additional resource for teachers where they can track their student’s progress. I would create wireframes on the user flow then work with developers to utilize the best user experience. Once the functionality was in place I would focus on design details for an appealing aesthetic for teachers.
Custom Infographics
For a deeper dive outside of our daily editions we would provide additional teaching resources. I would design printable pamphlets and fact sheets. This would typically include custom infographics so that young students can easily understand information.
